Future Goals

We are working to increase our endowment so that the Hub can someday support public-facing humanities work through the following programs:

Fellowships: Small faculty grants for community engagement projects (both research-based and pedagogical)

Residencies: Three-month residencies bringing local community members to campus, with one residency per semester. This program will allow local innovators in the arts and humanities to share their expertise with the campus and will include exhibits, lectures, and other public programs. Each resident fellow will receive a stipend, access to on-campus resources (e.g., the library system), and additional funds for a series of three public events.

Podcast: Humanities in the D, a monthly podcast highlighting humanities work on campus and in the community.

How you can help

For the Detroit Humanities Hub to reach its full potential and become a permanent fixture at Wayne State, we will need to raise $5M in endowment funding. If you would like to support our work by donating directly, please click on the link above and designate your donation to the Humanities Center in the dropdown menu. If you have ideas or connections that can help us, please contact Victoria Stewart at VictoriaS@wayne.edu!
