2003 - 2005

During the 2003-2004 academic year the Humanities Center at Wayne State University ran a program for Faculty Grant Mentorship. This program aimed to facilitate external grant writing by allowing faculty with experience obtaining external grant funding to share advice with colleagues seeking external grants.

In the 2003-2004 year, two mentors gave seminars on grant writing.

March 9 Seminar
Sarah Bassett, Associate Professor of Art & Art History
Dr. Bassett has a record of success writing grant proposals such as NEH, Dumbarton Oaks Research Center/Library of Harvard University, the American Research Institute of Turkey, and internal WSU grant awards.

April 7 Seminar
Arthur Marotti, Professor of English
Dr. Marotti has a long history of writing successful grant proposals including a Guggenheim Fellowship, an American Council of Learned Societies Fellowship, and a NEH Fellowship. He was also a Humanities Center Fellow at Johns Hopkins University.
